Whether it's over rocks, through bodies of water or up and over just about any hill the Evoque can conquer just about anything you can throw at it. Terrain Response 2, Range Rover's sophisticated traction-management system, allows for five driver-selectable modes designed to give the Evoque more capability off-road. The R-Dynamic HST trim engine is tuned for 296 horsepower with 295 lbs-ft pf torque. A 9-speed automatic is the only available transmission, coupled to a Haldex full-time all-wheel-drive system. Styling is edgy and aggressive, but it's clearly a Range Rover from front to back, with characteristic styling touches at the headlamps, grille and tail lamps.A 2.0L turbocharged engine powers the Evoque that produces 246-horsepower, achieving 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. Even so, the Evoque still possesses the chops to keep up with the traditional German titans of luxury. The Evoque caters to a decidedly more eco-conscious customer base given its interior surfaces are made from wool blends, artificial suede, recycled materials and even eucalyptus. Keeping in the spirit of the brand however all-wheel drive and a beefy 9-speed ZF automatic transmission remains standard but with heavy-weight competition like the Audi Q5, Volvo XC60 and BMW X3, the Evoque is a contender but it's swimming in the deep end of a very large pool. Keeping with this philosophy, Land Rover revamped the Evoque, aiming to achieve better fuel economy and providing even more versatility for urban-goers.
